I had the pleasure of attending a Seattle Parks Foundation Celebration a couple weekends ago and I can not emphasize how important parks are to Seattle and to the home values overall! Parks are amazing to have and the extra bonus? Parks increase home values. It is that simple. With that, I ask you to please contribute to the Seattle Parks Foundation in their latest effort:
From Karen Duabert Co-Chair of The Green Spaces Levy Campaign:
"Eight years ago, Seattle voters passed the 2000 Pro Parks Levy which continued the Seattle legacy of quality parks and green spaces started by the Olmsted firm in 1903. That levy is expiring this year, and I am writing to ask for your support for the 2008 Parks and Green Spaces Levy.
Today the success of the 2000 levy is clear. Over eight years, the $198 million levy funded 140 acquisition and development projects throughout Seattle, adding more than 42 acres of parks and green space and leveraging more than $28 million in funding for additional improvements.
You can help maintain Seattle's quality of life by providing the recreational, natural, and open spaces that make our city great.
Show your support today for the 2008 Parks and Green Spaces Levy! Click here to contribute now!
The 2008 Parks and Green Spaces Levy will provide over $145 million for Seattle green spaces, including the projects below and many more major improvements to our parklands:
- New parks in urban villages
- Green space acquisition
- 23 playground renovations
- 4 sports field upgrades
- Essential infrastructure for cultural facilities in public parks
- Multiple stream and forest restorations
- Green connections enhancements
The cost is only $81/year to the average homeowner, $30 less annually than the expiring levy.
The time is right, but we need your help.
The 2008 Parks and Green Spaces Levy campaign grew from the grassroots, and financial support from citizens like you will help leave a legacy of great parks, active playfields, healthy habitats, and green connections for future Seattleites.
Your contribution today is vital - whether you can give $50, $500, or $5,000 - to support the campaign for the 2008 Parks and Green Spaces Levy.

About Me:
Seattle real estate has been a big part of my life for well over a decade since I began my career in real estate, but also before that time when I was in the process of purchasing my own first home. Buying your first home can be quite overwhelming, but I have managed to help many first time home buyers along the way.
Move up Seattle buyers and other types of specialized purchasing is a great passion of mine! I love Seattle houseboats and you can find me down on the docks of Lake Union and Portage Bay several times a week. Other aspects of Seattle real estate that I adore include Queen Anne Real Estate,Wallingford Real Estate, Ballard Real Estate, Green Lake Real Estate, Laurelhurst Real Estate, Magnolia Real Estate, andSeattle Waterfront Real Estate.
In addition to being a Seattle residential broker and founder of Cooper Jacobs & Seattle Afloat, I am also a member of CBA (Commercial Brokers Association) and head of the Cooper Jacobs Commercial Division in an effort to provide excellent commercial real estate services to the Seattle commercial real estate industry. With a background in accounting and management, it is my great pleasure to coordinate our Seattle commercial brokers.
