Courtney:
This is awesome. What a way to live. Hope you have a great week.
Courtney, I was watching Komo four news the other day and they said that the Seattle City Council was trying to get rid of these Seattle icons. Is this true?
Hi Paul -
They are always doing some piece about trying to get rid of the houseboats. Floating homes are a little different because these homeowners do collectively usually ow n the land beneath them and they are hooled up to city sewer and water. The segment of houseboats that is always at risk are the vessels and barges because they are not hooked up to sewer, etc. and are more like live aboard boats. There are environmental issues if these liveaboards are not good srtewards of our lake. The city has definitely put in tighter and tighter guidelines for all Seattle houseboats - even floating homes, but the houseboats they tend to go after are the vessels in the North end of the lake and over towards Nickerson.
