This applies to Seattle real estate, too!
10 Reasons Why The Holiday Season Is A Great Time To Sell. Below is a list of reasons why now is the time to list.... Don't wait until spring.
*Sellers are dropping out of the market for holidays, less competition
*Buyers who are looking in the winter tend to be more serious buyers.
*Singles, couples, and empty nesters tend to wait while school is in session to buy, less competition for them.
*Interest rates are at an all time low
*Buyer scan buy more house right now.
*February and March produce the highest amount of homes sales, but November and December and January don't have as many homes for sale so there is a higher ration of homes sold to those for sale.
*The holiday spirit can help sell your home, you decorate for your guests, but buyers will find your home more charming while it is decorated for the season.
*Most homes are never cleaner and never smell better, or are better decorated than during the holiday season.
*If you don't want to move during the holidays you can negotiate possession for your own convenience.
*Sellers can usually negotiate their best deals during the holiday season.
Sellers who take their homes off the market or postpone selling them during the holidays won't save any money; they will simply postpone their own dreams and perhaps find more competition when they decide to enter the market again.
Are you ready to postpone your dreams or are you ready to move ahead and live your future now?

About Me:
Seattle real estate has been a big part of my life for well over a decade since I began my career in real estate, but also before that time when I was in the process of purchasing my own first home. Buying your first home can be quite overwhelming, but I have managed to help many first time home buyers along the way.
Move up Seattle buyers and other types of specialized purchasing is a great passion of mine! I love Seattle houseboats and you can find me down on the docks of Lake Union and Portage Bay several times a week. Other aspects of Seattle real estate that I adore include Queen Anne Real Estate,Wallingford Real Estate, Ballard Real Estate, Green Lake Real Estate, Laurelhurst Real Estate, Magnolia Real Estate, andSeattle Waterfront Real Estate.
In addition to being a Seattle residential broker and founder of Cooper Jacobs & Seattle Afloat, I am also a member of CBA (Commercial Brokers Association) and head of the Cooper Jacobs Commercial Division in an effort to provide excellent commercial real estate services to the Seattle commercial real estate industry. With a background in accounting and management, it is my great pleasure to coordinate our Seattle commercial brokers.

Hi Courtney...thanks for the Re-Blog, it's the Same Here too, many times December is one of my Best Months, less competition as Other Realtors Go away too.
Only real buyers are look at the holidays so you may have fewer lookers but those who look are buyers.
Hey Courtney, this is true for me... lots of buyers flying into town in the next month!
I'm finding more reasons for people to list now than in previous years. I recently did a study of a micro market I have listings in and found November and December to be as productive as several of the spring markets in recent years. With prices showing little signs of stabilizing might as well go now, rather than later.
Wow lots of responses on a reblog with a perkier title than I would usually use.hmmmm,
I truly am historically busier in November and December and this year is the same. The inventory is thin when I am showing so there is definitely room for additions!
Thanks for all the great feedback! I had no control over the title as it is a reblog, but maybe I should think about that based on the response.
I just got finished telling 3 different potential sellers the same thing today!
Courtney, This is a good reblog. The blogs go by so fast that it is easy to miss them. All the reasons given for selling durng this time of year make sense to me. Plus, if things work out that way. wouldn't it be nice for both families to be in their new homes for Christmas.
I missed this blog the first time around. Makes sense that the buyers looking right now would be more serious.
