Seattle Suburbs Real Estate: New Listing in Mukilteo - Multiple Offers

seattle real estateI am sorry to have been absent for the most part for a few days.  I have been collecting offers and fielding phone calls for my new listing in the Seattle suburb of Mukilteo - four so far in just a few days!  Real estate is not dead and anyone who wants to be all doom and gloom should take note:  There are buyers out there!

If you are on the fence, get off because this is the buyer's market in Seattle you have been waiting for!  Even with a great market full of choices, there is still going to be competition  - just not as much right now so get on it!

Seattle Real Estate: Check out a Seattle Suburb for Good deals and huge houses!

SEattle suburbs real estateSeattle Suburbs:  Check out the burbs!

Seattle is a beautiful place to live and work, but if you are craving the open floor plans and large spaces of new construction, then look no further than the many beautiful Seattle suburbs! In the south, wonderful developments are popping up in Kent, Renton, and Des Moines. If you go east, you can still find some wonderful new construction in Bellevue and Kirkland, but the trend is heading towards the mountains with more activity in Sammamish and Issaquah – and even Cle Elum, North Bend, and Roslyn.

Also check out this post on te Best Seattle suburbs....

Real estate is also going crazy in North Seattle with areas of Lynnwood Washington like Martha Lake and Mill Creek still growing considerably. Edmonds, Richmond Beach and Woodway have some good options – some of them complete with views of the sound! Lake Forest Park has some beautiful custom homes going in. Even Brier and Mountlake Terrace have new construction going in! South Everett and Snohomish just North of Mill Creek are probably the most active and the homes being put in are loaded with all the new features buyers are looking for today.

Suburb Upgrades:  Granite? Stainless? Seller Paid Closing Costs? No Problem!!!

Granite and stainless steel seem to prevail as standard rather than being an option and builders are throwing in perks left and right – plasmas, gift cards, you name it! Seattle Suburb builders have finally realized that they are in a buyer's market and as a result, Seattle buyers are getting some amazing deals! On top of that, the housing interest rates are low so Seattle buyers are getting the best of both worlds!!!!

Buying in the Seattle suburbs is a good choice because the price is right - right now! Home maintenance costs are lower and you can actually sit back and watch your equity grow rather than have to dip into it to make costly improvements or repairs. Get in there and Negotiate for you!!!!

Seattle Real Estate: Mountlake Terrace, WA: Interconnecting trails to the schools

Safety is vital and the trails around our schools are brilliant!

Trails are great for fitness and casual walks, but also vital to the students using them to get to and from school!

Seattle real estate: Mountlake Terrace WA  Some recent events -

The Edmonds School District recently temporarily closed the walking trail behind Mountlake Terrace High School between the school and Castle Crest 2.  The trail is a vital transportation route for many students who live in both Brier and Mountlake Terrace and keeps them off busier streets.  Apparently there were complaints and some concern expressed over the lack of supervision for students in these areas and whether or not the trails were being properly used. Angry parents of students unable to walk to school were told that the City of Brier was responsible for closing the gates and the city thought that maybe it was the Mountlake Terrace Police or the high school itself.  It was utter confusion!

My daughter is one of the students affected.  I made many phone calls regarding the trail being closed off.  After many more phone calls, it was discovered that it definitely was the school district and there did not seem to be a lot of thought that went into the decision.  We have been in the Edmonds School District for many many years and have been very happy with it overall, but the person in charge of facilities failed in this instance (he made up for it later with his quick actions).

The school district failed to realize one of the key reasons why so many people had moved to these neighborhoods and that was the fabulous system of interconnecting walking trails!  All of the neighborhoods around Brier Elementary, Cedar Way Elementary, Brier Middle School, and Mountlake Terrace High School connect by trails so that the children in those areas do not have to walk on busy and congested streets to get to their schools and back home.  It is a brilliant system and also amazing for fitness walkers or just casual outdoor enthusiasts.  Cutting off the trail to the high school through Castle Crest 2 was a poor decision and one that the school district quickly remedied!
