Lake Forest Park WA Community Info:Lake Forest Park Civic Club

Lake Forest Park WA is full of natural beauty and is all in all just a wonderful community!  It is a great alternative to city living, but still close enough in to take full advantage of all Seattle has to offer.

Here are some of the Lake Forest Park WA things you may not have known:

  • Speeding STRONGLY discouraged with many speed traps and camera tickets especially around schools.
  • Hybrid drivers welcome!
  • Lots of trees!
  • Farmers Market
  • Beach Access even if not deeded through one of the private clubs through public park

Kenmore WA Absolutely Topped The List For Best Neighborhoods In Seattle

Kenmore Wa topped the list in the number one spot for best neighborhoods in Seattle, but it is actually a Seattle suburb.  Seattle Magazine took suburbs and Seattle neighborhoods and compared them all together to come up with the best places to live based on a point system.  Kenmore came in at #1!

Affordable homes in the Suburbs!

On RainCityHouses.com I just wrote a post on Seattle suburbs with homes under $300k for first time home buyers trying to take advantage of some low prices and the tax credit before the deadline in Novemebr.  Kenmore was on my list with 10 homes available for iunder $300k.

Come check out this cool city and see what the buzz is about:  Kenmore real estate  Done't forget to peek at Lake Washingotn - you might see the Evening Magazine seaplane taing off - there are also some great waterfront properties here on the Sammamish Slough which flows right into Lake Washington!

Nearby Seattle suburbsLake Forest Park real estate and Brier real estate are good ones to check out!

Edmonds WA Waterfront Real Estate: Great Waterfront Seattle Suburb Homes!

Edmonds WA waterfront real estateFor great Seattle area waterfront homes, Edmonds WA has some amazing spaces and real estate!  Edmonds WA is a close in Northern Seattle suburb perched on the Puget Sound with easy commutes to both Seattle and Everett Washington.  Everett is one of the sunniest spots in the Seattle area and is known for its scenic views, gorgeous beaches, and wide open parks.

Edmonds WA has some of the most beautiful Seattle area real estate and you can find amazing homes here with sweeping views and right next to Downtown Edmonds for restaurants, shopping, and a fabulous little movie theatre.  The shops around here pretty much cover everything you could ever be interested in making Edmonds WA a great self sustaining place to look at homes.

The waterfront here is one of my favorite spots.  Edmonds WA has a drive on ferry across the Puget Sound to the waterfront community of Kingston - this could be a great day trip from Downtown Edmonds, and just one more reason to love Edmonds real estate, whether you are wanting a large home on the hill or one of the great waterfront options.  Edmonds underwater dive park

Edmonds has one of the most amazing underwater dive parks, too!  My diver friends rave about the sunken trail and the photos I have seen of the overall layout of the park are fascinating!  My favorite part, by far about the Edmonds WA waterfront, though, is the waterfront itself - the beach.  There are a few sections of it to choose from and a trail all along the waterfront for adventurers.  Edmonds waterfront also has an Anthony's and an Arnie's for great seafood waterfront dining.

Edmonds waterfront has a lot to offer and looking at real estate in this Seattle suburb is a great option - wonderful homes with great views!

Horizon View Real Estate in Lake Forest Park WA

Horizon View real estate in Lake Forest Park WA - this is a great neighborhood in the Seattle suburb of Lake Forest Park Washington!

Horizon View Lake Forest Park WAHorizon View is the highest point in Lake Forest Park and because of that the homes here tend to have some great views!  The Horizon View neighborhood has views of Lake Washington, the Cascades, Mount Baker, Mount Rainier, and Seattle on a clear day.

The real perk here for  Lake Forest Park Horizon View homes, though is the park itself  and great reason to look at Horizon View real estate- Horizon View Park is one of the most phenomenal around and a great smaller scale version of all the things we all like about Green Lake in Seattle!   There is a quarter mile loop and a mile loop, enclosed tennis court, basketball/sport court, ball field, playground complete with choo choo train and separated by age appropriateness, and more!  There is parking, porta-potties, a water fountain, and dogs are allowed here on leash. In true Lake Forest Park fashion, there is a dog bowl here for your furry friends to sip out of as well. The park is 8.4 acres and includes a giant Seattle reservoir which is inside of the larger loop.  Horizon View Lake Forest Park WA

Little known Horizon View Lake Forest Park fact:  Ready for this one? Horizon View Park used to be a Nike Missile site!  It was the radar tracking portion of the system, but it was right here in Horizon View Park from 1957 until it was decommissioned in 1964.  You can still see the relics if you look closely.  After my daughter beat me at a game of tennis, we wandered up an old staircase that was covered in brambles and seemed to literally lead to nowhere.  I didn't know it at the time, but this was one of the radar pads left over from the old site - it was still a bit eerie.  The actual launching site is over on 1st and 228th on Nike Hill in Bothell (I also had no idea where the nick name had come from for the hill). Through out the 1950s Seattle got a lot of these installed apparently.

Horizon View is a great neighborhood and Lake Forest Park is a wonderful Seattle suburb in Washington!  I have written about Lake Forest Park real estate before, but wanted to start really getting out some cool neighborhood information - Horizon View is a cool Lake Forest Park neighborhood and there are some wonderful homes here!

Edmonds School District #15 Out For The Summer!

School is out around Puget Sound through the Seattle suburbs and Edmonds School District #15 ended their 2007-2008 school year today.  Congrats to all the graduates around Lynnwood, Edmonds, Brier, and Mountlake Terrace!  Have a safe summer!

Relocating between the the school years is pretty convenient for families with children - the transition into a new school can be much easier after settling into a new house.   I moved around a lot as a child and there are some tricks to helping children make those adjustments successfully.  Finding special activities to do during the summer is part of it.  My mother was always pretty good at making sure I got out there and met friends before school started.  If that isn't possible, then there are great activities going on at the library and parks.
