I should start this by saying that I am happy to show my listings! I am a successful Realtor in the Seattle area and I expect to show my listings! It is my duty to my seller and I want to give my listings as much exposure as possible. I have had a lot of "unrepresented" buyers lately call me on my listings and try to trick me into thi
nking they want to work with me.
What I do not like is the buyers that are working with a limited service company and try to trick me into thinking they are not.... This is Seattle real estate and my opinion is that you need a good Seattle Realtor to help guide you through the maze. Despite this, I am all for what ever a buyer wants to do, but I want people to be honest. Is it too much to ask? I talked to another Seattle real estate agent in my office and she said she has had seven or eight limited service buyers this year alone that have tried to trick her into thinking she could be their agent. In fact there are stories every week about Seattle buyers using listing agents until they get the paperwork done out of the blue with their limited service buyer's agency company.
I honestly really think Seattle real estate buyers do need a full service agent! There is so much hand holding that goes into the process and I am not sure that a limited service outfit can accommodate these extra needs. I think some buyers do not have a complete picture of the process and am constantly trying to educate them on how much actually goes into what we do! There is definitely value in what I do for my buyers! Just because it may seem smooth, it does not mean that I am not behind the scenes keeping it that way!
Anyone else have any horror stories with limited service buyers? Is this market pushing more of these buyers out there? I think especially in this market, buyers need us to help them through every step of the process!
